Currently the fire department consists of individuals who have volunteered their time to work as a team to fight fires, provide emergency medical services, attend training, and provide various other services to Randolph Township. The department currently has a total of 30 members, most of whom are cross-trained to provide EMS in addition to fire fighting. Department members may also be involved with fire inspections and investigations, assist with public relation events, assist with maintenance and upkeep of equipment and vehicles, and other projects as needed.
ADULT MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
We are looking for Randolph residents interested in providing a challenging and personally rewarding service to their community. They must be able to make a commitment of time and availability for calls and training. The department is able to provide the initial training and skills needed, but it also takes a personal responsibility to become the best firefighter or emergency medical technician that you can be. You must continually hone your skills and knowledge. You must be at least 18 years of age and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license. A member may become a Firefighter or Emergency Medical Technician or both. A new member is placed on a one year probationary period. State required training is obtained either in Fire or EMS during this probationary period along with intradepartmental training. Members must attend the weekly training sessions for Fire and/or EMS and also respond to a reasonable percentage of calls when approved. Initial training is paid by the fire department with a commitment of 1-3 years after completion.
CADET MEMBERSHIP
A Cadet member must be a current high school student age 16 or older with a valid Ohio driver’s license. Grades must be kept up to your current standard as expected by your parents. You must be 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with no felonies to become a member of the department.
